The exchange across borders about the medium of art, the composition of cultural understanding and friendships are the aims of the international female artists’ association  „Fédération Internationale Culturelle Féminine“. For this, exhibitions and meetings will be organized annually by the existing country sections.

The artists of the FICF are women from different cultural origin, ethnicities and experience who are characterized not only by their artistic qualification but also by their experience in exhibitions.

The arts are a serious matter, they are essential in human life.
The true artists of all times are moving forward, consciously or unconsciously, in a direction that the mystics have gone before them.
They are teaching us to see the world as a gigantic symbol where everything is coordinated just like the instruments in an orchestra.
We wish you, dear Ladies, that you will be a guide for everybody by your elegant work of art and the human experience you will have.

Pope Johannes XXIIIduring an audience in Rome 1972
... and then I wish to remind you that the Fédération that we have become members of, has a world political ideal! To connect women of the world in the name of art and friendship.
I personally believe that there is still a lot for us to do together. The economical Europe might be getting on its feet, but what about respect, the recognition and the acceptance of the different?
Isn’t that an endless adventure? And then there is the whole East with all its problems. Maybe, by the women’s art, we can be an open door.
Annegret Marot, general secretary of the FICF exhibition, Paris 1992
I would like to speak about it again, especially for the new ones, the young ones, the ones that were born post-war:
The FICF was founded after the last war in order to reestablish and consolidate the connection between the peoples that had fought each other terribly twice in 20 years. And that by the art of women.
The founders had an extraordinary belief that made this exceptional work succeed.

FICF - History, Structures, Task and Functions

History

The Fédération Internationale Culturelle Féminine (F.I.C.F.) emerged from the „Club International Féminine“ founded by Madame Perigot de la la Tour.
This club, which was the first club like that, brought women from all over the world together and offered them visits to concerts, the theater, travels, access to libraries, etc.. This club was joined by the foundation „Madame Rene Coty“ for single, paralyzed women.
Madame Perigot de la Tour founded the FICF in 1961. Mrs Schumann-Adenauer, the chairwoman of GEDOK Cologne and granddaughter of Chancellor Adenauer and the painter Ella Hoffmann joined the FICF as founding members. The German section oft he FICF emerged from this.
Further sections from England, the Benelux countries, Greece, Italian and Romania followed.
The Fédération experienced an upturn in many countries. Madame Perigot de la Tour, who is a painter herself, and Camille Berg, who is a graphic artist and a painter as well as the general secretary oft he „TRAIT“, organized art exhibitions. This was helped by the international department and supported by state authorities, regional authorities and town authorities. Presented during those exhibitions were internationally renowned artists on the one hand and retrospectives of famous female artists such as Mary Cassatt, Suzanne Valadon, Kaspar – Filser, etc. on the other hand.
Until 1980, the Fédération was managed by Madame Perigot de la Tour, who also started the trilingual art magazine „Expression“.
Her successor was first the manager of the greek section Madame Effie Michelis, who was followed by Marianne von Hagemeister in 1983. Since 1986, the FICF is managed by the founder’s daughter, Marie-Michelle Perigot.
